Corporate Social Responsibility
In 2012 and 2013 we’ve been supporting International Peace Day (September the 21st) through a range of initiatives with the PEACE ONE DAY organisation, who happen to be based on our doorstep in London. Other Global charities that Instant Teamwork have supported over the past 15 years include…
Amathuba NPO – Embo, South Africa.
As co-founders we funded the building of the first house, facilitated a corporate event in Joburg in exchange for our SA client funding the second house, and organised several fund-raising events in London to assist further builds in this very poor area. Women from Embo are instrumental in many of the building projects. Some of the men have formed their own construction company as a result of developing construction skills onsite and are now confident wage-earners in the affluent suburbs. Amathuba has become a self-run community NPO, currently building a creche with local Durban corporate funding. Result!
Roof for the Roofless – India
Fundraising workshops in Chennai and donations sent from events in London.
Teenage Cancer Trust – UK
A week of free drumming workshops for the teenagers at The Albert Hall, culminating in 20 teenage clients being the surprise opening act for Madness and Eric Clapton at their annual fundraising concerts. The teenagers themselves were the most surprised!
Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital – UK
Harmony singing workshops for patients, carers and unsuspecting visitors!
Visions of Glory – Kenya
Four fundraising concerts at All Saints Church Battersea, bringing in our team of facilitators to perform their various party pieces.
MENCAP – UK
Regular, and very popular, visits to the Merton Mencap Centre where we drum up a storm with 30 clients at a fun music club.
Save the Children – UK
Drumming with Save the Children events in Trafalgar Square, London.
West End Kids (WEK) at St Thomas’s Hospital – UK
Drumming and singing with WEK students and some enthusiastic patients at St Thomas’s Children’s Hospital. Later we invited the West End Kids to record the first demo of Raise Your Voice for Change (see below)
UN Women – Global
Composing the song Raise Your Voice for Change and performing it with the Instant Teamwork Harmony Band at the launch of UN Women UK at the Royal Society of Arts in London.
