Songs are Magnets

We were drawn to support PEACE ONE DAY because it became clear to us, during decades of philanthropic activities, that all NGOs, NPOs and charities would be able to operate far more effectively if there was Peace in the world. A crazy dream?

Actually, in 2011, 1.6 million children were vaccinated against polio in Afghanistan in one day thanks to the efforts of PEACE ONE DAY and various affiliated aid organisations. Everyone agreed to put down their weapons on September the 21st. and some good work was done.

Is one day enough? Obviously not, but it’s a good start, and a great example for young people that ANYTHING is possible if you follow your passion as wholeheartedly as Jeremy Gilley, PEACE ONE DAY’s founder, is doing.

What can we contribute?

Songs are magnets – if you get them right they attract people. Once you have their genuine attention you can tell them more bout your passions. Not in a manipulative way, but like a rhythm that is offered up at a party. It’s your choice whether you stay and dance to it. We’ve met some interesting people on the Peace dancefloor.

I didn't even know there was an International day of Peace until someone sent me this song on YouTube. Admittedly, it was the Ghostbusters riff that hooked me, then I learned the CUP GAME, then finally I checked out the PEACE ONE DAY website. Impressive stuff. Me and my mates are all getting involved this year.
